Checking tools and examples
Each tool must be checked against its supplied examples and meaningful boundary cases. Calendar checks include start dates, crew offsets, year boundaries and leap years where relevant.
We also check mobile and keyboard use, links and the saving, deletion, sharing, printing and downloads required by that tool. Numerical examples in blog posts must be checked using the supporting tool.
Sources and checked dates
External facts must come from official governments, regulators, recognised professional bodies or published manufacturer information where relevant. Source records include a URL and the date checked.
Missing or conflicting information is raised for clarification. We do not fill gaps with invented figures or label a source as checked before verifying it. A checked date describes a source check; it does not guarantee that the source will never change.
Review and publication
Content is prepared as a draft, submitted for review and approved before going live. Scheduled blog posts also wait for their publication date and a live supporting tool.
Review previews are labelled as drafts and are excluded from search indexing. A preview is for checking work; it is not a published or approved page.
Authorship and review
The site is authored by its team. We do not use personal author profiles, portraits or invented qualifications.
Approval is a team lead check. We do not claim an independent expert review. Tools provide general information and retain their relevant disclaimers.
Corrections
If you find an error, include the page address, the part that appears wrong and the expected result. For a calendar issue, a non-identifying pattern, start date and year help explain the problem.
Avoid sending private names or a full personal schedule. The Contact page lists the available contact information and what to include in a report.
