How to use this tool
- Choose a pattern, enter the cycle start and set each crew's offset, or load a share link from one of the launch shift calendars.
- Choose the date to check. Imported calendar settings keep your selected checking date.
- Read each crew's shift and the next seven days. Dates before the cycle start are marked Not started.
- Save your settings locally, share the selected date as a link, or print and export every date from the cycle start through Date to check, including both dates. Download one crew, both or all crews as a calendar, or the complete results as CSV.
How it works
The finder uses the same calendar-day calculation as the year calendars: (date minus start minus crew offset) modulo cycle length. Dates before the common start are not scheduled.
D means day, N night, M morning, E afternoon and O off. A crew can have its own sequence, allowing imported Pitman schedules to retain different day and night assignments.
A launch calendar share link contains the schedule in its URL fragment. Loading the link checks those settings locally. The finder does not fetch the link, store it on a server or determine leave, overtime or shift swaps.
Worked example
DuPont, starting Monday, 4 January 2027, with crew offsets 0, 7, 14 and 21. On Saturday, 25 December 2027, Crew A is on a day shift, Crew B is on a night shift and crews C and D are off.
Common questions
Which crew is working today?
Select today's date and enter your confirmed cycle anchor and crew offsets. The answer uses your inputs rather than a live employer rota.
Can I check a date next year?
Yes. Select a date from 1900 to 2100. The repeating cycle continues across months, years and leap days without resetting.
Can I share the answer with my team?
Yes. The share link includes the selected date and all crew patterns. Anyone with the link can read those settings, including names.
Does it work with custom patterns?
Yes. Use D, N, M, E and O, with at least one work day in each sequence. You can edit the common cycle or each crew's cycle.
What do the downloads include?
Print and downloads cover the cycle start through Date to check, including both dates. The browsing view still shows the selected date and the following six days. If Date to check is before the cycle start, there are no dates to print or export. Calendar files contain working dates as all-day events, with no assumed shift times. Off dates are omitted from calendars and included in the CSV. You can download individual crews or both or all crews together.
Can I import another calendar?
Use a share link from the shift pattern generator, 4 on 4 off, DuPont or Pitman calendar. Exported calendar files and share links from custody tools are not accepted.
